What a day! On Friday March 21, we set out to plant 500 trees at our first annual Gondwana Green Day Out event in Mullumbimby.
Thanks to an incredible team of volunteers, supporters, and partners, we doubled our goal and planted 1,190 trees and other native plants to restore a rainforest riparian zone.
To everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and helped bring this project to life – thank you. Seeing so many people come together with a shared vision was amazing.
This wasn’t just about planting trees. It was about restoring a degraded creek, rebuilding vital habitat, and proving that real change happens when businesses and communities take action together.
More about the project
We planted specialist rainforest trees carefully selected to repair the creek bank on our selected site, which sits on the outskirts of Mullumbimby. The restoration of this site through strategic planting will ultimately contribute to improving water quality, stabilising the landscape, and creating a healthier ecosystem for the future. Over time, these trees will help transform a once-cleared site into thriving riparian rainforest.
The success of this event is just the beginning. Every tree we planted will have an impact for decades to come, and we’re excited to keep this momentum going.
Ways you can still help
For those who couldn't make it, you can still help restore rainforest in Australia - for every $1 you give to our Rainforest Rangers program, we'll establish one rainforest tree right here in Australia. Donate now.
If you haven’t signed up yet, now’s the perfect time to join as a volunteer! You’ll receive updates on upcoming projects and ways to get involved, plus the chance to connect with like-minded people passionate about conservation. Our volunteer projects are based in Northern NSW and Far North Queensland, but there are plenty of ways to help no matter where you are. Whether it's hands-on restoration work, raising awareness, or supporting us online, every effort makes a difference.
Thanks again to everyone who took part in our first annual Gondwana Green Day Out. We can't wait to do it all again next March.
